This three-tier stacking glass storage jar is made up of four pieces of clear glass: three glass tiers that stack one on top of another, and a domed glass lid with a knob that sits on the top tier. Stacked together it stands 25.5 cm high on a 12 cm base, so three different foods can share the space of a single jar on the worktop.

What is in the set

The jar comes as four pieces: three stacking glass tiers and a domed glass lid. The lower tiers have no lids or seals of their own. Each tier sits on the one below it, so the base of each upper tier closes over the tier underneath.

Size and capacity

Assembled with its lid, the jar measures 25.5 cm high and 12 cm across and holds 1,320 ml in total. Each tier suits a modest portion, such as a handful of nuts, a supply of sugar cubes or a few spoonfuls of spice, rather than a full bag of flour or pasta. If you would like to keep it in the fridge or beneath a wall cupboard, check first that there is 25.5 cm of height to spare.

One, two or three tiers

The jar is modular, so you can use it as one, two or three tiers. The domed lid fits the top of any stack: a single tier with its dome makes a small covered dish, while all three together make a tall, slim column. Lift the tiers apart to serve from them separately at the table, then stack them again afterwards.

Tea, coffee and sugar by the kettle

Stacked beside the kettle, the three tiers keep tea, coffee and sugar together in one place: tea bags or loose tea in one, coffee in another and sugar cubes in the third. The same arrangement works for peppercorns, dried herbs and chilli flakes, for red lentils, chickpeas and split peas, or for breakfast cereal and oats.

Snacks, sweets and breakfast spreads

When friends come round, fill the tiers with mixed nuts, dried apricots and chocolates, or with biscuits, Turkish delight and truffles, and set the jar on the coffee table. At breakfast, jam, chocolate spread and peanut butter can each have a tier of their own, ready to be lifted off and passed along the table.

Small portions in the fridge

On a fridge shelf, the clear tiers keep small portions apart and in plain sight: raspberries, blueberries and cherries in separate layers, or half an avocado, half a lemon and a cut onion, each in its own tier. Because everything shows through the glass, the last of the berries is less likely to be forgotten behind the milk.

Around the home

Away from the kitchen, the jar makes a tidy bathroom or dressing-table organiser for cotton pads, cotton buds and hair ties, or a way to display shells, pebbles and dried flowers on a shelf.

Care

All four glass pieces, the three tiers and the domed lid, are dishwasher safe. Make sure each piece is completely dry before you stack the jar and fill it again.

Good to know

The tiers and lid rest on one another rather than locking together, so the jar is not airtight. It keeps things covered, separate and on show, but it is not a sealed container for long-term storage.

Helpful Product Information

Frequently Asked Questions

How many tiers are there, and what is the total capacity?

There are three separate glass tiers, holding 1,320 ml in total between them, finished with a domed glass lid. Stacked into one column the jar stands approximately 25.5 cm high on a 12 cm footprint.

Can the glass tiers be used separately?

Yes. Each tier lifts off and can be used on its own before being stacked back into the column, so you can take one to the table and leave the rest where they are. It is what makes the piece work as three storage jars and one serving set at the same time.

Can I use it for tea, coffee and sugar?

Yes, this is one of the most natural uses for it. Three tiers means tea in one, coffee in another and sugar in the third, kept apart but in a single column, which takes far less worktop space than three separate tea coffee sugar canisters standing side by side.

Is it suitable for spices and dry ingredients?

It is. Each tier keeps its contents separate, so spices, dried herbs, nuts, dried fruit, chocolates, sweets or biscuits can all be stored in the same piece without mixing. Clear glass throughout means you can tell at a glance which tier is running low.

How much worktop space does it need?

About the same as a single jar. At roughly 12 cm across it gives you three storage sections for one jar's worth of counter space, which is the point of the stacking design rather than a set of jars laid out in a row.

Are the tiers airtight?

No. Each tier sits over the one below it and the domed lid finishes the top, so contents stay covered and protected from dust, but there is no seal or gasket anywhere in the design. Treat it as covered storage for dry store-cupboard items and snacks you use regularly.

Can I see what is inside without unstacking it?

Yes. Every tier is clear glass, so the contents of all three are visible without lifting the lid or taking the column apart. In practice that means you refill things before they run out rather than after.

Does it only work in the kitchen?

Not at all. The same three tiers work as a bathroom or dressing-table organiser for cotton pads, bath salts and small everyday items, and the clear glass suits decorative use too, with stones, shells or dried flowers layered inside.
